Black Friday Ads Sneak Peek

Any of you planning on braving the crowds (and the early morning) to go out and shop on Friday? I hear there may be some good deals to be had!

Here is a site where all the "Black Friday Ads" are corralled into one place.

Me, I'm going to try to get my hand on a paper tomorrow morning - even with all this technology, I'm still a "paper" girl! I like to read books, magazine, recipes, and Black Friday Ads on paper rather than on a screen :0)

Happy Thanksgiving . . . and Happy Shopping!

Thanks Robin and friends for the info on the site!

Updated Walmart Deals

Here is a post with some updated Walmart deals . . .

Centsible Savings Current Walmart Deals

There are a few disclaimers I would like to note since these sites are NOT local:

1. Rockford tends to have higher prices than most areas - shocker! Right!? Probably not.
2. Rockford's Walmart might not carry the exact same items.
3. Rockford might not receive the same $ coupons as their papers. We have higher prices and we tend to get lower $ coupons - that just doesn't seem right.
4. We have not verified these deals for you. The deals we list on our site are ones for which we have gone to the store and verified or done ourselves. That would not be the case with these Walmart deals.

New CVS $5/$30 coupon

Just in time for their Black Friday deals CVS released a new $5/$30. Go here for a quick 3 question survey and print out your coupon at the end.

CVS Huggies Deal

It seems to be a quiet week again on the deal front, maybe it's the calm before Black Friday. CVS has one FREE after ECB's item:

**Complete Contact Solution - $8.99, Get $8.99 ECBs (Limit 2)
Use $1/1 printable here or from the 10/25 RedPlum insert
Free plus $1 overage after coupons and ECBs

and then there is a diaper deal. . .

Buy $20 worth of Huggies Diapers and/or Wipes, Get $5 ECBs (Limit 1)
Diapers are 2/$18.99
Wipes are $6.99
Grab your coupons and see what type of deal you can work out. Depending on your coupons you could get these for about $5 or less a package.
Here is a $2 off printable coupon
I believe the Pure and Natural diapers are included and there have been $3 off coupons floating around for those but no printable ones in the internet right now. Your best bet is probably buying two diapers and one wipe and using 3 coupons. The newspaper had a .50 off wipes coupon last month.

Change has come to Target!

Well, we knew it was too good to be true . . . unlimited coupon prints on Target coupons, available to us at any time until they expired . . .the end of an era.

Target over the weekend has released a new coupon printer from Target.com. They will release coupons weekly and there will be a print limit of 2. It only makes sense as their system was very generous and they are tightening their belt like everyone else. Click on Grocery Coupons at the very bottom of Target's homepage.

I assume that no more coupons will be available at afullcup.com and hotcouponworld.com on their Target coupon generators. It seems that Target for now will just let the coupons expire and not give them liscense to these new coupons.

The first time you click on Target's Grocery Coupons you must install their coupon printer to allow you to print. After you install it then their system is just like coupons.com. You click the check box of the coupon(s) you want and then Print coupons. You will be allowed to print/check each coupon twice (per computer) before the coupon disappears from the list and your limit is reached.

A few deals this week at Target . . . sorry it's been quiet around here Anouk and I took turns being sick. I was sick last week and Anouk is sick this week. I am getting caught back up on projects and mountains of laundry plus school projects etc. We hope to catch you up on some deals!

Dollar General printable coupon

Are you a Dollar General shopper? I can't say that I have even been in a Dollar General but thought in case some of you go there you might be interested in this printable coupon. The coupon is only valid Saturday and Sunday.

Make sure you read the details! The coupon offers 10% or 20% off certain products.

MacArthur Study Bible on sale until Sunday

Just wanted to let you know that Grace Books International has MacArthur Study Bibles (hardcover) on a great sale: $19.99! Their shipping is a little high ($9.25) but the total for one would still be a few pennies under Amazon's price of $29.64.

If you order more than one, however, the price gets "better." For example:

- if you order two Bible, your total is $39.98 for Bibles, $10.06 for shipping = $25.02 per Bible.
- if you order three Bibles, it's $12.15 for shipping = $24.04 per Bible.
- so on and so forth.

They have other good sales on books (go to their sale link) that you could add to your cart to make the shipping even more worth it. "Adopted for Life," which is an excellent book, would be a good one to add to your cart! Christmas is coming up . . . and books make great gifts!

Thanks Jason for the head's up!

Reminder to the Veterans and Active Duty Military!

Here is a reminder to the Veterans and Active Duty Military about a FREE meal at Applebee's tomorrow! We posted this in October but wanted to remind you all for tomorrow. Check the post for specific details and requirements.

Also, WIFR made this announcement on their Facebook status . . .Texas Roadhouse in Rockford is offering a FREE dinner from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Veteran's Day for all active veterans who show up in uniform or with military identification. Address: 7240 Walton Street Rockford, Illinois. (I assume they mean active duty and veterans because active veterans doesn't make sense.)

The Applebee's offer doesn't seem to be time specific so if you are going to get dressed up . . . hit Applebee's for lunch and Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

Thank you for your service!

Need games? This sounds like a great deal!

I haven't tried out this deal myself, but it sure sounds like a great deal! Looks like you can get 7 Hasbro games for around $4!

Check it out here!

Thanks Common Sense With Money!

Get 10% more from your dollar on gas purchases

Well, essentially it's like getting 10% more on each dollar . . . Road Ranger has a promotion from now until Christmas time - buy a $50 gift card, get $55, or buy $100 gift card, get $110!

I tried it today, and sure enough, they charged me $50 and my gift card has $55 on it! Our Road Ranger is close to home and is usually one of the cheaper ones around - now they'll be getting me to come a few more times since I have a gift card! So it's a win-win!

Just FYI, I did it at the Road Ranger on Harrison near Alpine - I'm pretty sure it's a city-wide deal, but you may want to check your Road Ranger to make sure they're having this deal.

Let's hit the Mall!

Christmas is in the air and Santa's house is going up at Cherryvale Mall. What else?! Coupon books with Holiday specials. The coupon books are about the size of a checkbook and look like this:

BUT . . . if you are headed to the mall click on the picture above or here to be able to select which coupons you want to print and take them with you! So don't panic if you can't find the book they are all available online.

Check out Cherryvale's main webpage here and sign up for their email newsletter in the upper right hand corner. They also have a special page dedicated to coupons and offers here available all year long not just for the holidays. I even found a sales and events page here.

Then make sure you sign up with your favorite stores for email coupons and mailings. Some of my favorites:

Auntie Anne's Pretzels - coupons emailed to you for free pretzels or drinks with a purchase.

Barnes and Nobles - not only do they offer coupons for books and other items but coupons for the cafe as well!

Bath and Body Works - they have great coupons for a free item with ANY purchase or $/$$ coupons. The past two months they have mailed me coupons for a free item no purchase required!

Children's Place - never shop there without a coupon!

Gymboree - right now in the lower left sign up for their email list and receive a 30% off coupon.

Victoria's Secret - sign up with Victoria's Secret here AND join the Pink Nation here. When I joined the pink nation I received a FREE shopping bag worth $20 and since joining have received emails and coupons in the mail for FREE "Pink" underwear. Just this week I went into Victoria's Secret and received two FREE pairs of underwear and a FREE bottle of my favorite perfume - total value was $27! All for FREE - not a penny!

Go here for a complete store listing that will even link you to that stores webpage! How convient!

Thanks to reader Heidi for the tip on the coupon books! The books can be found at the welcome desk and on a table at the entrance between Barnes and Noble and Camille's Cafe. She mentioned they were going fast so I was very excited for our reader's that they also are available for print online!

Target update!

Target's Halloween decorations/clothes/costumes/candy etc. are at 75% off. There are lots of candy coupons out there so make sure you take them with you when you go including these printable Target candy coupons!

Also, Energizer batteries are on price cut. $6.49 for 10 plus some packs have 2 free. I found these hanging in the toy section at 173 near the end cap. The next isle over had the Target Toy book which has a Target coupon for $1 off Energizer batteries. Combine that with this $1 off printable and pay $4.49.

3 good coupons

Three good coupons:

$1 off Scottie facial tissue (yes, off ONE box!). Go here to sign up for the coupon. Remember to refresh (or hit "back button" to get 2 coupons total!

CVS - $5 off $20. Just "peel" the tags by clicking on them with your mouse (good until 12/31).

At CVS - pick up their big "Season to Save" flier (more like a catalog). Inside there is a $4 off $20 coupon.

Thanks MoneySavingMom for the head's up on the 2 printable coupons!

Some stores to check out!

Since Christmas is coming up, I wanted to point out a few stores in town that can help you with all your holiday shopping. I'm not usually a big fan of dollar stores, but I do have 2 favorites, one of which is not as well known (it's a local, non-chain store)

ALDI
If you are from Europe, have been to Europe, or wished you could go to Europe, Aldi is a cool place! They often have specialty items from all over, especially around the holidays. Right now, they have Chocolatines - a.k.a. Chocolate Croissants - and non-Pillsbury Croissants. These are available for a limited time, and since they are half price right now, I'm sure they won't last the week (reg. price $2.99 / clearance price $1.49 for box of 4 chocolatines or 8 croissants). Why not grab a few boxes for a special Christmas breakfast? While you're there, pick up some milk too if you need it - everyday price of $1.79. I find their milk stays fresh longer than most milks. (forgot to mention the first time around that they are in the frozen section, so they will keep until Christmas . . . when you're ready, just let them rise overnight and bake them in the morning.)

Dollar Tree
I went there yesterday to pick up a few things. They have their Christmas stuff out, and let me tell you, some of their decorations are SUPER nice. I'm going to have to go back and pick up a few of their 17" snowflakes (they look better in real life)! I've been more and more impressed with their seasonal things - some of it is still cheap-o looking, but a lot of it rivals the more expensive stores!

Super $1 Store
This is the "local" dollar store in Rockford. There is one off State near Alpine (east of Big Lots, west of Alpine), and one in the strip mall at the corner of Riverside and Main. These are my favorite dollar stores! They sometimes get "leftovers" from Hallmark and other stores, and have a variety of things that I don't see in other dollar stores. If you're big into scrapbooking, the one on Riverside has TONS of stuff for you! Most items in the store are $1, many are less than that, and a few things are up to $2 . . . and NOTHING is over that, except for the one short aisle where they have bigger ticket items. Check it out!

Hallmark Outlet
Located on Alpine near Harrison (next door to Hilander, on the right . . . not the regular Hallmark store which is down on the left). Everything in the store is 50% off retail price, and the Christmas stuff is 75% off. If you like Yankee Candles, they have a varied selection for 50% off.

JC Penney Outlet
Located off of 173 near the big shopping center, this is where I do a lot of clothes shopping. Make sure you get on their mailing list to receive the fliers with all the good deals listed. This Saturday and Sunday, for example, men's pleated & flat front twill pants are $5.99! Can't beat it! It really is a great place: in fact, when my in-laws come to town, we have to make a trip to the outlet! Makes me wonder about the true nature of their visit! Just kidding Mom! :0)

Have fun shopping!

Join us for the Drugstore Game Class!

Don't forget this Saturday, November 7th, at the East State Street Library you can join us for the Drugstore Game Class! There will be giveaways, of course, and tips on how to use the rewards programs at the local drugstores to get free products and save money!

The class starts at 1pm!

My trip to Hilander

WARNING: This is a LONG post . . . but I wanted to post in detail so you can see what good deals can be gotten at Hilander's Mega Deal Event! Apparently it's going on next week too, and often the same deals repeat: so check it out and see what available!

Went to Hilander today to take advantage of the Mega deals going on (buy 10 items, get $5.00 off your total). I went through the self-checkout line because I wanted to do my 5 separate transactions and not have people waiting in line behind me. The help guy at the self-checkout was so nice - even went and got me a cart to transfer my purchases to. I would scan my 10 items, hand him the coupons, pay, and go on to the next transaction.

Well, here are my spoils of the day. Please note that instead of taking the $5.00 off the total, I am taking $0.50 off each of the 10 items to reflect what the actual price per item is.

First transaction: No coupons used.
- Ricola Cough Drops (x2) - $0.50 ea
- Del Monte canned tomatoes (x4)- $0.50 ea
- Scotch Brite spunge - $0.50
- Land-O-Lakes spreadable butter - $0.99
- Zesta saltine crackers (Keebler brand) - $0.99
- Heinz Ketchup 36oz - $1.49
Total OOP (including tax) - $7.07
(there were coupons for Ricola in 10/11SS and for Scotch Brite in 9/20RP but I didn't have them)

Second transaction: One coupon
Armour meatballs (x2) - $1.99 ea
Tombstone pizza (x2) - $1.99 ea
Lays (x2) - $1.78 ea
Fritos (x2) - $1.49
Ore Ida fries (x2) - $1.99 ea ($1.26 ea after $1.50/2 coupon from 9/27 SS)
Total OOP (incl. tax): $17.16

Third transaction: Six coupons
- Pepperidge Farm Natural Pretzel thins - $1.99 ($0.99 after $1 printable coupon - no longer available)
- Pepperidge Farm Sesame Snack Sticks - $1.99 ($0.99 after $1 printable coupon)
- Pepperidge Farm cookies - $1.99 ($0.99 after doubled $0.55 coupon from 9/27 SS)
- Welch's Grape Juice - $2.49 ($1.49 after $1.00 printable coupon here or here in Safari)
- Kleenex aloe and ultra soft (x6) - $0.99 ($0.66 after 2 doubled $0.50/3 coupons from 11/01 SS or here)
Total OOP (incl. tax): $9.01

Fourth transaction: Nine coupons
- Kraft Natural Mozzarella Cheese 16oz - $2.49 ($1.74 after $1.50/2lb any cheese coupon here)
- Kraft Natural Sharp Cheddar 16oz - $2.49 ($1.74 after above coupon)
- Chex Mix (x2) - $1.49 ea ($0.49 ea after doubled $0.50 coupon here, here, or from recent inserts)
- DanActive 4pk - $1.49 ($0.49 after $1.00 coupon from recent insert)
- Activia 4pk - $1.49 ($0.49 after $1.00 coupon from recent insert)
- Yo-Plus 4pk - $1.49 ($0.49 after $1.00 coupon from recent insert)
- Danimal Crush Cups 4pk - $1.49 ($0.49 after $1.00 coupon from recent insert)
- Nestle Chocolate Chips - $1.99 ($0.99 after doubled $0.50 from recent insert)
- Pillsbury Simply refrigerated cookie dough - $1.99 ($0.99 after $1.00 coupon from recent insert, or a better deal for you: a double $0.55 coupon from recent insert or here)
Total OOP (incl. tax): $8.56

Fifth Transaction: Ten coupons
- Chex Mix - ($0.49 ea after doubled $0.50 coupon here, here, or from recent inserts)
- Snuggle fabric softener - $2.99 (more than FREE after $3.00 coupon from 10/04RP)
- Bumble Bee Tuna pouches (x3) - $0.49 ($1.52 overage after 2 $1.00 printable coupons from ?? and one double $0.55 coupon from recent insert - only doubled to $0.99 retail price)
- Land-O-Lake spreadable butter - $0.99 (FREE after doubled $0.55 printable coupon here or $0.19 after doubled $0.40 coupon from recent insert)
- Keebler Fudge Shop Cookies (x2) - $0.99 ea (FREE after two $1.00 printable coupons from a LONG time ago)
- Betty Crocker boxed potatoes - $0.99 ea ($0.19 after doubled $0.40 coupon from recent insert, and $0.49 after double $0.25 coupon from recent insert) Total OOP (incl. tax): $0.15 (the total was actually $-0.19 + $0.34 tax)

So the total for all of the 50 above items was $41.95! Not too shabby! If I had just bought the items without coupons or the mega event (so still shopping sales), my total would have been around $95.00 (hard to figure out the exact amount with tax). If I had shopped retail price, no sales, I would have spent over $145.00!

One more note (as if this isn't long enough): I think if I'm going to post grocery deals, I better switch my grocery day to Thursday instead of Tuesday. Posting deals on Tuesday night when the sale ends on Wednesdays is a bit of short notice for you the readers! Better go rework my weekly schedule!

Get a free box of fruit snacks if you purchase 2 boxes of poptarts. Check the ad for other options.

Target has a Kellogg's cereal deal - Buy 3 boxes get 1 free
It doesn't seem to be that fantastic of a deal as the boxes were mostly $3.29 or more. Only one kind is $2.66 and there are no coupons for that type currently.
Coupons.com has some Kellogg cereals but I didn't find they matched up with the sale except the Special K Blueberry and again I think it is $3.29.
Go here to print a Target coupon for $1 off Kellogg's cereal too!

Target also released a new toy coupon book found in the store and printable online. Combine these coupons with manufacturer coupons and hopefully we will be able to get some great deals on toys.
