Looking for a way to use your Amazon $3 MP3 credit?

Here's an idea for that free credit you got (and have to use by Monday). If you have children or you spend time with children, this is a good purchase to use up your $3 credit. It's called "Songs for Saplings" and it is verses put to song. The total is $8.99, so you'll still have to spend $5.99, but you'll get 38 verses put to song! My 3 year old niece is loving it (listening to it right now). What a great way to instill the Word in children!

Plus when you purchase this MP3 album, you'll get a code for a $5 credit toward an "Amazon Video on Demand" which means a free movie night with your spouse or a friend!

The Blind Side for $3.99

Amazon is running a deal on "The Blind Side" movie which is one the best movies I've seen in the last year or so! It's only $3.99, and if you have already signed up for AmazonMom (even if you're not a mom), you'll get free 2 day shipping! Snatch it up before the price goes up!

Thanks for the heads up FrugalGirls!

Sad news from Hilander

I have sad news . . . for weeks (maybe even a few months now) I have seen small signs at my Hilander that only coupons up to $0.50 will be doubled. So far, even my $0.55 coupons have doubled - until yesterday. When I asked why my $0.55 coupons did not double, I was told that only coupons up to $0.50 are doubled. I've also looked on their weekly ad, and the "double coupon" part of it is no longer on there.

The deals to be had out there are fewer and farther between as we're sure you have noticed by the lack of posts on our blog. Because of the lack of "great deals" like we were seeing just a year or two ago, we're re-thinking this blog to include a broader scope than just posting great deals. Thanks for your great patience as we try to figure this out!

Dukes & Lords!

Dukes & Lords, a family haircutting center, offers great one day specials of $5 haircuts!!! I mean seriously that is an awesome deal. You can't even hit Great Clips that for anywhere near that price.

Yesterday, I took the little man in the new location on E. Riverside because the sign was flashing $5 haircuts. The staff was awesome, friendly and gave him a great haircut. The assistant manager cut his hair and she was great.

Go here to see all of their locations in the Rockford area and keep an eye on their signs for when they offer their awesome $5 haircuts. When I see them again on Riverside I will tell you because odds are we will be going too!

And, the answer to the all important do they have suckers question . . . YES! I guess that is why my son always sits so perfect like an angel while getting his haircut ever since his first one OR maybe he is very particular about his hair and paying close attention?! :)

Kroger Mega Event!

There is a Kroger Mega Event sale that starts today. Buy 10 participating items and get $5 off instantly. I wanted to get this out to you so you have plenty of time to get in on the good deals! There are over 190 participating items and lots of items under $1! I haven't gone to Hilander yet, but browsed the ad and it seems to match up with these sites.

Southern Savers has the most comprehensive list and coupon match up printable and newspaper! I love her site because you just check the boxes of the items you want and create a shopping list all categorized for you. There is no way I have the time to recreate this for you so that is why I am sending you to her!

In case her site is overwhelming, here is My Good Cents - she did a quick short trip
.

Deal Seeking Mom also has a great list compiled AND a list here of Unadvertised deals too.

I would suggest picking one and just taking your time to go through it. There are lots of FREE to almost FREE items - soups, toothbrushes, cough drops, etc.

One tip I learned while shopping a Mega Sale is to take reusable shopping bags and put 10 items in the bag then close it up. This way you just count the bag once and you are done then start a new bag. It really helps you focus and go faster when you are shopping with kids or just plain need another cup of coffee and don't want to keep track.

Also, this sale goes through Tuesday. Odds are it will run again the next week too.

P & G Coupons

This past Sunday had the usual P & G coupon insert booklet (Proctor & Gamble). Take a look at the coupons and see what has changed. It is very interesting.

The coupon states 1 coupon per purchase - which is usual and just means you need to have 1 coupon per 1 item. It also states a limit of 4 like coupons in one transaction! Now this wouldn't apply to most of us. I usually only buy 1 paper and get 1 insert/set of coupons. However, it could be added to printable coupons etc. if this trend catches on. It is also in bright red print just to make sure that we all caught the change!
