Need Diapers?! Check out Target!

If you need diapers this week, check out the CVS Pampers deal here and then Target has a great deal on them too this week!

Buy 3 packs of Pampers or Huggies diaper or pullups at $8.99 a jumbo pack and receive a $5 gift card!
If you treat the gift card like cash, it automatically takes the price down to $7.32 a pack. Now add Target and manufacturer coupons. There have been several Target coupons in inserts lately for Pampers and Huggies and manufacturer coupons as well.

The only printable coupon available right now is for $2 off Huggies Pullups.

I do not buy extra papers and I had enough coupons to have 2 per pack. I bought 1 Pampers pull ups and 2 Huggies pull ups and paid $4.15 per pack after gift card and coupons!

If you are interested in trying these $5 gift card deals, I always save a $5 gift card to "roll" on other deals to lower my out of pocket immediately by $5 each time. This allows me to see my savings right away!

Check out Stretching a Buck here for all the deals posted this week. Nothing really poped out at me except the York Peppermint Pieces after coupon that are $1.49! The $1 off coupon was in last Sunday's insert.

$.10 Greek Yogurt at Hilander.

Here are two coupon links (print each link twice) for $.45 off Yoplait's new Greek Yogurt. Hilander has these on sale for $1. Use the coupon to get the Yogurt for $.10 after doubled coupon.

The Hilander on Mulford near Spring Creek has changed their system and it will only double two like coupons per transaction so . . . either do two transactions or use all four coupons and pay $.32 each per container since only two coupons will double. This is still a VERY good deal on Greek Yogurt and it is delicious! I think it is much better than regular yogurt but it is usually at least two times the price.

Coupon link #2 or Safari here

How Stockpiling Really Saves You Money! AND Cheap Pasta!

Let's say you were running to the store because tonight you decided to have Spaghetti! At Hilander Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta is $1.84 shelf price. Now you could buy a generic or go to Aldi or another store and maybe get another type of pasta for around $1.

But this week at Hilander Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta is on sale for $1. Good price, however lets add coupons!

Here are 3 links to $.75 off 1 box of Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta coupons that can be printed twice each link:

Coupon link #1

Coupon link #2

Coupon link #3

NOW, you have a stockpile deal!! You can pick up 6 boxes or Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta for $.25 each OR $1.50 for 6 boxes which is less than the shelf price ($1.84) for one box of pasta when it isn't on sale. In other words it really saves money to stockpile shop . . . wait for the low price and add coupons!

Thanks Money Saving Mom for the links!

More cheap frozen treats!

The Baskin Robbins' 31 cent scoop night is back next week! On Wednesday, April 28th from 5-10pm, you can get a scoop of Baskin Robbins ice cream for less than a third of a buckaroo!

I love how these are always on Wednesday evenings, because when we go to our local one just down the street from the church, half the folks from church are there!

So, mark it in your calendars! And I'll see you Wednesday at the one at Alpine and Harrison, OK?

Blizzard week

If you like Blizzards, this is your week . . . no, I'm not saying we're going to have snow. I'm talking about Dairy Queen's delicious frozen treats!

It's DQ's 25th birthday and they are celebrating by offering this deal: this week until Sunday, if you buy a Blizzard, you can get a second one for only 25 cents.

No coupon is needed, and it is a deal that is posted on the scrolling banner on their site. I would suggest calling your local DQ store just to make sure they are doing the deal. I haven't tried it myself, but have heard about many others who have.

Have you taken advantage of this deal? If so, what DQ? Post a comment and let us know!

A great new tool!

Money Saving Mom rocks! She and her sister (with the help of many others across the country) have come up with a system where you can find what sales and coupon deals are going on at most stores around the country! And the cool thing is, you can sign up to have those deals emailed to you (like I did), or sign up for RSS feed! Woohoo!

I signed up for the Aldi and Kroger (Hilander) deals to be emailed to me. By the way, Illinois is in the Central Division.

This is a great new tool! Use it to your advantage!

Home Made Simple

This is a great offer available again from Home Made Simple. Sign up here for a coupon booklet with over $30 in Proctor and Gamble Coupons.

Babies R Us Deal

If you have been contemplating doing this Babies R Us fill a bag deal but haven't yet, I would suggest you make a trip just in case.

The great thing is the 25% off comes off the clearance and reduced sale prices. For example, I bought and adorable boys outfit regularly $12.99 on clearance for $6.20 with a sign posted take an additional 25% off and then with my fill a bag coupon I received an additional 25% off of that price. So, I paid $3.49!

The coupon is good on clothing up to 48 months and shoes - it doesn't all have to fit in the bag you just need to print the coupon and get the bag at the service counter to fill then checkout with your coupon.

Also, while you are there if you are a fan of Seventh Generation cleaners they are on sale right now for buy one get one 50% off. Some of their products are on clearance for $1.98. Use these $1 off coupons to get some great deals on their products. I bought several boxes of their dishwashing tablets and am also going to submit for a rebate (that is no longer available) to receive $5 back for buying 3 of their products. So, my tablets were free after sale, coupon and rebate!

Need Sponges?

Well I was going to post this fantastic deal for FREE Sponges but it looks like Scotch changed the coupon. It was a great coupon for $1 off any 1 Scotch Sponge but now it is $1 off any 2 Scotch products. It will still make for a good deal just not free.

Print this coupon and get the single Scotch sponges at Hilander this week for .50 each after coupon. I hear that Walmart has them for $.84 so if you are a Walmart shopper check it out because then they would only be $.34 each.

Other "Money Smart" Events in Illinois

As per my last post, you know that there are free shredding services going on in Rockford; and per Kristie's post, you know that we will be doing our coupon class this coming Saturday in Rockford.

But Money Smart Week is for all of Illinois! Go here to check out the other events going on in Rockford AND the rest of Illinois. A quick perusal show me that there is free shredding in Peoria and Urbana, as well as a some other great events all across the state - some are specific to kids, others to teens, and some to retirees. You can even narrow your search of events down to topics or cities!

Go check it out!

Free Shredding!

Every year, once or twice a year, I go to "Community Shredding" events. This is where a company will offer free shredding services, usually up to 2 boxes. This is a great way to get rid of old files and receipts you don't want to put in your garbage can. I have a box at home labeled "for shredding." Every time I have something I want to shred, I put it in the box. Then when a free shredding day comes, I take my box and watch them throw my stuff into the powerful jaws of the shredder!

This year, there seems to be a lot of places offering the service. I plan on going to the one on April 24th at the Members' Alliance Credit Union. Here are the three places that are offering the service in the coming weeks:

April 17th - Super Shredders on N Central

April 24th - Alpine Bank on E State

April 24th - Members' Alliance Credit Union on S Alpine

Go and take advantage of the free service!

Other CVS deals

I was finally went to CVS today (though it was an impromptu stop, not a planned one) after weeks of not setting foot in one. It was nice to get the little "rush" of getting a great deal. I took advantage of some of the deals Kristie mentioned in her earlier post this week, and added a couple. Here are the deals I found:

**Aussie hair products - 2/$5 or $2.50 each
Used $2 coupon from 3/14RP
Final Price: $0.50

**CVS brand Cocoa Butter stick - $0.99
Used $1 CVS coupon printed from coupon scanner (many are reporting getting this)
Final Price: FREE

**CVS brand toilet paper - 2/$1
Used $1 CVS coupon printed from coupon scanner (many are reporting getting this)
Final Price: FREE

**Dove Shampoo - $4.49
Used $1.50 coupon from 3/28RP
Final Price: $2.99 (not including the ECB you get back)

I also used a $1 ECB coupon that printed from the scanner (my 1% back on winter purchases, I guess), so my total was $2.97 which included tax . . . and I got a $4.49 ECB back!

I'm back in the game! :) Now let's just hope that CVS has some good deals to play with in the next few weeks!

Win a Snapfish prize!

Snapfish is turning 10 and is offering cool prizes to their customers! They have a "Spin the Wheel" game where you can win some photobooks, collages, or even a computer or printer! I played last night and won nothing (you get 3 spins), but today I played and on the first spin I won a photo notebook!

This could be a great opportunity to win a prize which will then become a gift for a loved one! Don't tell Jeremy, but I may use my prize for a birthday gift for him!

So go ahead and spin the wheel! If you win a prize, a window will pop up with a code. Copy that code then go redeem your prize: you'll be asked to sign in to your account (or create a new one) and type in the code. Have fun!

KMart doubling

Thanks to our reader Karalin for reminding me that our Rockford KMarts are doubling coupons this week. I had every intention of heading out there to take advantage of deals and post them here, but it's Thursday and I still haven't gone out.

There are new rules this time around: you must be a "Shop Your Way" rewards member to be able to get double coupons (you should be able to sign up at customer service), and I believe you're only allowed 5 coupons per day. So, if you happen to be by a KMart in the next two days, be sure to take your coupons in with you (up to $2) and get them doubled for some good deals.

Here are some deal scenarios from Common Sense With Money (please note that prices vary from region to region).
